NNDKP advises Carrefour on the completion of the sale of all its operations in Romania to Pavăl Holding

Nestor Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) acted as Romanian legal counsel to Carrefour in connection with the successful completion of the sale of its Romanian operations to Pavăl Holding.

NNDKP worked alongside the international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP, the lead counsel and coordinator of the transaction for Carrefour.

The NNDKP team, led by Partners Corina Dumitru (Corporate/M&A) and Lavinia Ioniță Rasmussen (Real Estate), advised on all Romanian legal aspects of the transaction, assisting Carrefour throughout the entire process.

With a multi-format network of over 15,500 stores in more than 40 countries, the Carrefour Group is one of the world’s leading food retailers. Carrefour Romania operates a multi-format network of 478 stores (including 55 hypermarkets, 191 supermarkets, 202 convenience stores and 30 discount stores) and generated gross sales (incl. VAT) of €3.2bn in 2024 and 2025, representing approximately 3,5% of Group sales.

Corina Dumitru and Lavinia Ioniță Rasmussen noted: “We are delighted to have supported Carrefour on this landmark transaction, which represents an important milestone for Carrefour and a significant development in the Romanian retail market. It was a privilege to work alongside the Carrefour team and the BCLP team, and we are grateful for the trust they placed in us. We wish Carrefour and Pavăl Holding every success in their next business chapters.”
