OMV Petrom secured, with the support of the NNDKP team, a new legal success against Greenpeace initiatives aimed at blocking Neptun Deep energy project
NNDKP secured a new favorable court decision confirming the unquestionable legality of the administrative acts and complex permitting procedures for the development of the Neptun Deep project, the largest natural gas project in the Romanian Black Sea and Romania’s first deepwater offshore project – developed by the client OMV Petrom S.A. in partnership with S.N.G.N. Romgaz S.A.
NNDKP teams succeeded in presenting before the court, on behalf of OMV Petrom, the specific arguments that led to a decision reaffirming the legality of the environmental permit and zoning plan (PUZ) documentation – key documents required for the safe continuation of the Neptun Deep onshore works.
This decision follows a previous success by the same NNDKP lawyers, who secured for OMV Petrom the final dismissal of Greenpeace’s request to suspend the effects of the environmental approval issued by the Constanta Environmental Protection Agency.
The NNDKP team assisting and representing OMV Petrom in this dispute includes Partner Emil Bivolaru and Senior Managing Associate Ioana Cioclei, Dispute Resolution practice, Partner Ruxandra Maria Bologa and Senior Managing Associate Emanuel Flechea, Energy and Natural Resources practice, as well as Senior Managing Associate Madalina Vasile and Senior Associate Camelia Stanciu, Environment practice.
