Regarding the minimum gross base salary at national level

The Government Decision (GD) no. 1447/08.12.2022 for establishing the minimum gross base salary at national level, approved for payment, was published in the Official Gazette no. 1186 dated December 9, 2022.

The present Government Decision establishes that, starting the 1st of January 2023, the minimum gross base salary at national level, guaranteed for payment, not including bonuses and other allowances, will be of RON 3,000 per month (approx. EUR 600), for a normal working schedule averaging 165.333 hours per month, i.e. RON 18.145/hour (approx. EUR 3.629 / hour).

This increase comes in comparison to the currently applicable minimum gross base salary at national level amounting to RON 2,550 per month (approx. EUR 510).

It remains to be seen what other changes will be operated for specific sectors of activity – e.g., the construction sector, where the minimum gross base salary currently applicable is of RON 3,000 per month (approx. EUR 600).
