Iurie Cojocaru – speaker at the first edition of the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence Law
On September 30, Iurie Cojocaru, Partner and Head of the Data Protection practice, was a speaker at the first edition of the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence Law, organized at the House of Ecology by the Ecological University of Bucharest and the Universul Juridic Publishing Group, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism.
Iurie joined the discussions during the second session of debates and brought to the public’s attention important aspects regarding the obligations of the implementer in the context of the AI Regulation.
Some of the topics covered during the conference included:
- the definition of Artificial Intelligence Systems (AIS);
- harmonized rules for the placing on the market, putting into service, and use of AIS in the Union;
- specific requirements for high-risk AIS and obligations for their operators;
- uniform rules on the placing on the market of general-purpose AI models;
- rules on market monitoring, governance, and enforcement of the legal regime established by the AI Act.
