Dialogues about Romania: Developments and Outlook – a joint NNDKP and Ziarul Financiar Initiative

NNDKP and Ziarul Financiar have launched the series of events “Dialogues about Romania: Developments and Outlook,” dedicated to the main economic issues of the moment. The initiative brings to the fore topics that are essential for the business environment (private investment, economic growth, taxation, and legislative predictability) and creates a framework for dialogue between business leaders, representatives of public authorities, of the banking system, and NNDKP specialists.

Through this initiative, NNDKP is reaffirming its role as strategic partner and relevant voice in the public debate on fiscal predictability, legislative stability, and the revival of private investment. The series “Dialogues about Romania” will contribute to building a climate of trust in the economy, the business environment, and Romania.

The series includes three events organized throughout the year, in complementary formats.

  1. The first event, organized as a roundtable, took place on February 26 in Bucharest. The starting point of the discussions was the idea that, although Romania has avoided a major financial crisis, 2026 is shaping up to be a year marked by fragile economic balance and uncertainties regarding the pace of investment and economic growth. The event was attended by representatives of leading companies and organizations such as OMV Petrom, Iulius Group, BCR, Concordia Employers’ Confederation, and Morphosis Capital, alongside representatives of NNDKP: Alina Timofti, Marius Ionescu, Adina Chilim-Dumitriu and Emil Bivolaru. The conversation focused on several key questions:
    • How do we revive private investment?
    • How do we revive economic growth?
    • How do we make the corporate tax system predictable and sustainable?
    • How can we make the tax system and public administration bureaucracy an active driver in supporting the revival of private investment?

More details about the event are available here.

  1. The second event, organized in a conference format, will take place on March 25, from 9.30, in Cluj-Napoca.

The event agenda aims to address how 2026 is revealing itself from the perspective of private investment, economic growth, and taxation, with a focus on recent tax audits, tax risk management, director liability, ANAF procedural approaches, and intra-group financial transactions. Confirmed speakers include representatives of NNDKP, namely Alina Timofti, Ciprian Paun, Lucian Barbu and Daniel Hadar,  alongside Ömer Tetik, CEO of Banca Transilvania and Matei Kubinschi, Deputy Director, Financial Stability Department, The National Bank of Romania. Their presence reconfirms the high level of dialogue and the relevance of the topics for the business community.

More details about the conference agenda and registration are available here.

  1. The series will wrap up in October with the third event, which will mark an important anniversary: 10 years since the launch of the annual NNDKP Legal & Tax conference. This edition will have a special significance, highlighting the role that constant dialogue between the legal, tax, and business communities plays in supporting rapid and sustainable growth in investment in the economy.

Further details regarding the event and registration process will follow.
