Alexandru Onuta joined the panel of speakers at Tax & Finance Forum Bucharest 2021, event organized by Business Mark on October 14-15, 2021.

During the event, which included a conference (14 October) and two seminars (15 October), tax experts presented and analyzed the latest changes in the tax field.

Our colleague, Alexandru Onuta, delivered a presentation on the topic: “Rescheduling of tax obligations – a voluntary compliance instrument” on the first day of the event.

Some of the key aspects pointed out by Alexandru include:

  • Although it involves an administrative effort, rescheduling allows, in addition to the payment in installments of the outstanding tax obligations, the significant reduction of the ancillary obligations that are due.
  • Some characteristics of the three types of rescheduling are different. The type of rescheduling that is most suitable must be determined based on the specifics of each taxpayer’s situation and on the purpose the taxpayer is pursuing.
  • The application of the rescheduling entails the fulfillment of certain conditions both before its granting, and during the rescheduling process. Failure to comply with the latter may invalidate the rescheduling of the tax liabilities, with negative financial consequences.
  • From a practical point of view, it is recommended that, for the approval of and during the rescheduling procedure, taxpayers work closely with the fiscal authority that carries out the procedure.

Other topics on the event’s agenda include latest trends and fiscal policies, latest news regarding the digitalization of the fiscal administration, SAF-T, transfer pricing, fiscal inspections, fiscal consolidation, discounts when calculating the profit tax.
