Viorel Mihai Ciobanu

Viorel Mihai Ciobanu is an Of Counsel to Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen.

Mr. Ciobanu is Law Professor at the University of Bucharest, President of the Drafting Committee for the New Code of Civil Procedure, as well as President of the Commercial Court of Arbitration within the Romanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Former Dean of the University of Bucharest Law School and judge at the Constitutional Court, Viorel Mihai Ciobanu is a prolific legal scholar, highly regarded by the entire community and a true mentor for generations of lawyers.

He authored many books and articles on civil procedural matters, published both in Romania and abroad. He is a member of the Bucharest Bar and has received many distinctions, among which the National Order "Steaua Romaniei", Romania's highest civil order, "Simion Barnutiu" Award from the Romanian Academy and "Mihail Eliescu" Award from the Association of Jurists in Romania. Mr. Ciobanu graduated from the University of Bucharest Law School and holds a Ph.D. in law from the same university.
