NNDKP Organised the First Constanta edition of Lex Atelier Focused on the Changes in the Labor Legislation

Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen organized, in collaboration with the law firm of Calipetre si Asociatii and with the Constanta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Agriculture (CCINA) the first edition of the Lex Atelier workshop, which focused on the changes to the labor code and the new law on social dialogue.

Some of the issues that generated most interest included the form and content of the individual labor agreement, the procedure and criteria for the proffessional evaluation of employees, the suspension and termination of the individual labor agreement, legal liability in labor relationships, the organization of work time, collective negotiations, procedures for the resolution of labor conflicts.

The workshop reunited over 80 managers and specialists in the fields of human resources and labor law from medium and large organizations from Constanţa, such as Argos, Petroconst, Daewoo–Mangalia Heavy Industries, Generali Asigurări, Rompetrol Rafinare, Şantierul Naval Constanţa, Socep Constanţa etc. The conference was moderated by Luminiţa Dima, the partner who heads NNDKP’s employment practice, Teodora Calipetre, founding partner of Calipetre şi Asociaţii and Mihai Anghel, senior associate in NDKP’s employment practice. This event is the first of a series of workshops focusing on legal issues of interest to the local business community that NNDKP intends to organize in Constanţa in the future.

“The workshop discussions focused on the issues that arise in practice through the interpretation and application of this year’s legislative changes in the area of labor relations. It was an open, engaged discussion, where we tried to find together solutions for these problems and share our experience with the participants”, states Luminiţa Dima.

“We were pleasantly surprised to see that the representatives of most large companies in Constanţa responded to our invitation. We believe that the seminar was useful and that it provided answers to certain significant labor law issues regarding the negotiation of the collective labor agreement at unit level, proffessional inadequacy, the role of trade unions, etc. We intend to continue such collaboration in the future, with a focus on legal issues of particular significance to the local business environment”, believes Teodora Calipetre.

The Lex Atelier workshops on the topic of the changes that occurred in the labor code and in the law of social dialogue were equally successful in Cluj-Napoca, Timişoara, Braşov and Craiova, where the NNDKP teams organized seminars focused on labor law, taxation, data protection and insolvency.

The Lex Atelier workshops are, together with the «Exclusively for Friends» business breakfasts, among the most appreciated and interactive events that NNDKP organizes for the benefit of its clients. The seminars started being organized two years ago in Bucharest and were later on extended to all the cities in which the firm has local offices. The workshops are intended to create the necessary framework for debates bringing together business people and representatives of the authorities and approaching controversial legal aspects they face, in areas such as: tax, employment, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, competition, capital markets, data protection, energy, environmental law.
